Common Neurological Conditions Treated at Solaris

At Solaris Hospital, we offer comprehensive neurological care for patients of all ages. Our team of experienced neurologists provides expert diagnosis, treatment, and management of a wide range of neurological conditions.

Stroke

A sudden interruption of blood supply to the brain, causing brain cells to die. Symptoms can include paralysis, speech difficulties, and confusion. Stroke is a medical emergency and requires immediate attention.

Brain tumors

Abnormal growths of cells in the brain, which can be benign (non-cancerous) or malignant (cancerous). Symptoms depend on the tumor's size, type, and location and may include headaches, seizures, and neurological deficits.

Parkinson's disease

A progressive neurodegenerative disorder affecting movement control. Symptoms include tremors, stiffness, slow movement, and balance difficulties. It results from the loss of dopamine-producing neurons in the brain.

Multiple sclerosis

An autoimmune disease where the immune system attacks the protective covering of nerve fibers (myelin) in the central nervous system. This leads to communication problems between the brain and the rest of the body, causing symptoms like muscle weakness, vision problems, and coordination issues.

Alzheimer's Disease

A progressive neurodegenerative disorder that leads to memory loss, cognitive decline, and changes in behavior. It's the most common cause of dementia and primarily affects older adults.

Migraine & Headache

A neurological condition often characterized by intense, throbbing headaches, often accompanied by nausea, vomiting, and sensitivity to light and sound. Migraines can last for hours to days and significantly impact daily activities.

Epilepsy

A neurological disorder characterized by recurrent seizures due to abnormal electrical activity in the brain. Seizures can vary in severity and type, ranging from brief lapses of attention to full-body convulsions.

Peripheral Neuropathy

Damage to the peripheral nerves, often resulting in weakness, numbness, and pain, usually in the hands and feet. Causes include diabetes, infections, and traumatic injuries.

Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis (ALS)

A progressive neurodegenerative disease that affects nerve cells in the brain and spinal cord, leading to muscle weakness, loss of motor control, and eventually, difficulty in speaking, swallowing, and breathing.

Trigeminal Neuralgia

A chronic pain condition affecting the trigeminal nerve in the face, leading to sudden, severe, electric shock-like pain in the jaw, cheek, or eye areas. It can be triggered by mild stimulation of the face, such as brushing teeth or putting on makeup.
